Graduation Get-Together Food... Well, some of it. Not low-carb.

Fruit Salad
   Vanilla Buttermilk Cupcakes
 Homemade Maple Marshmallows for S'mores
Peanut Butter Cup Bars & Pretzel Bites

Recipes used to guide me are two posts back.  We also had taco salads with all the fixings, as well as that Cherry Limeade.  I was a little disappointed with the limeade as it pretty much just tastes like the lemon-lime soda only.  I made it a second time and omitted the sugar completely, hoping it would then be more tart.  We liked it better, but still, it only tasted like the soda.  But it was pretty and the kids loved scooping the cherries out of the pitcher.  I'd like to make a sugar-free, or low-sugar, version that would be more tart and cherry flavored.  While the marshmallows were good and easy to make... they are expensive if you consider the cost of real maple syrup. Yikes!  But this was for a different and fun treat, after all.  The cupcakes and frosting were yummy.  A bit of fartin' around to make the frosting.  But if you're looking for something slightly different and a little less cloyingly sweet than typical buttercream frostings, this one likely would fit that bill.  The peanut butter cup bars were probably the most enjoyed thing that I made.  They are so addictive!  Taste just like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.
