Yes, Friday the 13th was a high carb dinner. Lucky I had my mother's birthday as an excuse. Supper was later followed by angel cake with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. At the very least, I did save cheating until supper time rather than making a whole day of it. Ha ha. And Saturday was unplanned and I ended up spending more money at the grocery store in order to have supper, even though we have a freezer full of meat, including hamburger.
I picked up a slew of veggies this morning. Dad will be starting chemo in about a week. So I was doing a little searching about what would be appealing during that time and what may be helpful to his health. Mushrooms, broccoli, garlic, onion, carrots, ginger root, to name a few. I picked a few from the helpful list here: Radiography Schools Good thing they live here with us so I can make sure supper is at least healthier than what he'd choose for himself. Tsk, tsk, Dad. Additionally, all those foods will also be good for Mom who's a diabetic. Though I'm going to have to make another trip to the store for the kale and cabbage that I meant to get also.
